Agriculture Industry in India

According to a report by IBEF, Agriculture plays a vital role in the Indian economy. Over 70 per cent of the rural households depend on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture, along with fisheries and forestry, accounts for one-third of the nation?s GDP and is its single largest contributor.

When it comes to the pearl industry in India, it has become a significant player thanks to the venture of Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA). The CIFA developed a research centre for pearl culture at Tuticorin and also collaborated with the Department of Fisheries, Tamilnadu. Considering these figures it is safe to say that demand for a Diver, Pearl is there in the present and has a lot of scope in the future as well.
