Fret Saw Machine Operator

The tasks a Fret Saw Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

Setting and operating fret saw machine with their reciprocating blade to cut wooden pieces, plywood etc. along marked line

Selecting or receiving material, determining pattern of cut and drawing or tracing design on it

Operating foot pedal to start reciprocating movement of saw

Removing saw from machine, passes it through drilled hole, resetting saw and continuing operation for internal cutting

Knowledge of operating fret saw machine

Well-versed with smoothening edges after cutting with file or sand paper

Proficient in drilling holes in material at appropriate places to pass saw blade particularly for internal cutting

Knowledge of fixing saw blade in machine with teeth downwards

Proficient in manipulating movement of material and cutting it along marked lines

Knowledge of setting saw number of times depending on design and cuts required

Diligent and hardworking

Arm-hand steadiness

Ability to focus for long hours

Ability to follow instructions

Problem solving skills

Ability to work independently

It needs one to be on their toes

Need not handle a team

Local travelling is a part of this job role

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Factories usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from factory to factory
