The tasks a Planer, Wood is expected to perform include:
Setting and operating single or multiple cutting head machine to plane surface or reducing thickness of wooden stock to required specifications
Selecting appropriate cutting blades and fitting them into cutter head using hand tools
Turning hand wheel to adjust table for depth of cut and suiting thickness of implanted stock
Adjusting pressure bar to hold stock firmly against cutting blades
Turning stock over and re-running it through the machine to surface other side and reducing it to desired thickness
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Proficient in measuring planed stock and resetting the machine
Knowledge of starting the machine and inserting one end of stock between feeding rolls
Well-versed in replacing dull or broken blades
Knowledge of cleaning and oiling the machine
Knowledge of sharpening and grinding cutting tools
Knowledge of operating other wood planing and cutting machines
Diligent and hardworking
Dexterity of hands
Ability to focus for long hours
Ability to follow instructions
Problem solving skills
Ability to work independently

Furniture segment compromises of 65 % of the home market and 35 % of institutions.
