The tasks a Painter, Glass is expected to perform include:
Drawing decorative designs on window glass and other glass articles using paints and painting brushes
Ensuring that the glass object gets desired pattern, shade, colour and finishing
Proficient in studying design or ornamental features
Adept at drawing free hand out lines with chalk, pencil or with special brush on glass planes or other glass wares to be painted
Well-versed with selecting different colours paints to match design or pattern
Proficient in painting details and shading on coloured glasspreviouslywaxedupaccording to originalpatterntocompletedesignofwindowsusedinchurches,memorialsandresidences
Knowledge of art, portraiture and effect of light and shade on glass
Adept at cleaning brushes in oil or solvent after painting
Proficient in staining back of painted glass pieces with silver chloride to get gold effect
Adept at examining finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications; and retouching any defective areas
Well-versed with estimating cost of work
Knowledge of inspecting work pieces to determine work procedures and materials required
Knowledge of painting walls, roof, etc. of buildings
