The tasks a

Puncher, Metalis expected to perform include:Punching, drilling and countersinking holes in strip-plates, boiler frames and other metal parts by machine or hand tools

Studying drawings and other specifications to understand nature of punching operation required

Selecting appropriate punch and screwing it into upper jaw of the machine

Hoisting and placing plate to be punched between die and punch

Aligning hole mark on metal part accurately under punch

Starting machine and releasing foot pedal to cause punch descend through plate and cut hole over marked area

Changing position of metal and repeating punching operation

Oiling and cleaningthe machine

Skilled in punching and drilling on metal plates

Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints

Skilled in punching metal in accordance with the required specifications

Knowledge of all the conventional measuring techniques

Ability to keep the machine in working condition all the time

Skilled in troubleshooting the machine
