The tasks a Director, Research (Motion Picture; Radio-TV) is expected to perform include: Directing the research activities of motion picture or television production?s research department

Conducting research on various subjects to ensure historical authenticity

Advising members of the production staff on matters related to historical details

Approving or recommending purchase of library reference material

Co-ordinating activities of workers in cataloguing and filing materials

Ability to perform detailed and in-depth research

Knowledge of various research methodologies

Ability to translate reference material
