The tasks a Director, Theatrical is expected to perform include:

Selecting appropriate actors, other staff members, outdoor location, etc. for a production

Directing rehearsals

Co-ordinating and supervising activities of cameramen, scenery designers, sound technicians, property men, etc.

Supervising the set-up of sets and stage

Directing the film, drama or any other production

Ability to visualize the final artwork

Ability to understand film language

Knowledge of screenplay analysis

Detailed knowledge of various cinematographic techniques

Ability to edit the final piece of work

Ability to manage actors and other staff

Ability to handle businessmanagement

Competent in directing mythological, social or historical films or stage performances
