The tasks a Data Base Design Analyst is expected to perform include:Designing logical and physical data bases and coordinating data base development as part of project team
Applying knowledge of data base design standards and data base management system
Reviewing project request describing data base user needs
Estimating time and cost required to accomplish project
Proficient in determining scope and limitations of project during specification meeting with project team workers
Adept with reviewing workflow chart developed by programme analyst to understand tasks computer will perform, such as updating records, etc.
Knowledge of reviewing procedures in data base management system manuals for making changes to data base, such as defining, creating, revising, and controlling data base
Well-versed with revising company definition of data as defined in data dictionary (information about data, including name, description, source of data item, and key words for categorizing and searching for data item descriptions)
Proficient in determining and entering changes to data dictionary descriptions, including type, structure, and intended use of data within system, using computer or assigning data entry work to programmer
Adept with developing data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures using pen and template or computer software
Knowledge of creating description to enable programmer analyst to understand how programmes should access data
Knowledge of writing description of how user accesses data, referred to as logical data base
Proficient in writing physical data base description, such as location, space requirements, and access method, to protect company data resources against unauthorized access and accidental destruction, according to computer industry standards and knowledge of data base management system
Proficient in adding, deleting, and modifying data items in data dictionary
Proficient in one or more types of data base management systems

Current Trends of IT & ITeS Sector in India
In 2012, the Indian IT & ITeS sector crossed the US$100 billion milestone; it grew by almost 1,000 times in the last two decades on the basis of cost arbitration, skill availability and government support. The sector is estimated to grow at an 11.5 percent CAGR over 2008-2013 to reach US$108.4 billion. The IT & ITeS industry is expected to reach US$300 billion by 2020 driven by rising demand in domestic market, along with increasing IT Services exports. The CAGR for 2013-2020 is estimated to be 16 percent.
In the IT Exports segment, a large portion of the workforce is currently engineers and MCAs over 80%. The proportion of graduates of science and other streams engaged in software development is expected to show significant increase from about 5% to 10% currently to about 15% to 20%.The Indian IT and ITES Industry would record about US $ 220 billion in exports and US $ 60 billion domestically by 2022, totaling to about US $ 260 billion growing at a CAGR of 12.8%.
The sector provides indirect employment to about 9.5 million people. The sector is expected to employ about 5.1 million professionals directly in FY22 and exports are likely to continue to dominate. This would definitely lead to an increase in employment opportunities of Data Base Design Analyst across towns and cities in India.
