The tasks a Principal, College is expected to perform include:
Directing and co-ordinating educational, administrative and counselling activities of college
Developing and evaluating educational programmes to ensure conformance to state and university standards
Developing and co-ordinating educational programmes through meetings with staff, review of teachers' activities and issuing directives
Conferring with teachers, students and parents concerning educational and behavioural problems in the college
Establishing and maintaining relationship with colleges, community organisations and other colleges to co-ordinate educational, sports and cultural activities
Allocating supplies, equipment and instructional material, as needed
Directing the preparation of class schedules, cumulative records and attendance reports
Observing and evaluating teacher performance
Interviewing and hiring teachers
Monitoring safety and security within college premises
Planning and monitoring college budget and financial matters
Planning and directing building maintenance
Developing and administering educational programmes for students with mental or physical handicaps
Proficient in managing people and budgets
Skilled in performance review activities
Knowledge of logistics management
Skilled at personnel management and operations management
Knowledge of effective instructional practices and current trends in education
Knowledge of all the pertinent issues and current events related to curriculum, effective assessment and pedagogical strategies
Skilled at making decision in accordance to the governing bodies like UGC, etc.
Ability to make efforts in improving learning and teaching methods
