The tasks a Complaint Attending Clerk is expected to perform include:Investigating and resolving customers' inquiries concerning merchandise, service, billing or credit rating

Examining pertinent information to determine accuracy of customers' complaints and responsibility for errors

Notifying customers and appropriate personnel of findings, adjustments, and recommendations, such as exchange of merchandise, refund, credit to customers, etc.Reviewing claims, adjustments with dealer, examining parts claimed to be defective and approving or disapproving of dealer's claim

Examining weather conditions, number of days in billing period, and reviews meter accounts for errors which might explain high utility charges

Writing the work order, preparing reports showing volume, types, and disposition of claims handled

Comparing merchandise with original requisition and information on invoice and preparing invoice for returned goods

Ordering tests to detect product malfunction and determining if defect resulted from faulty construction

Thorough knowledge of the merchandise, the service, billing or credit rating

Expertise in ascertaining the accuracy of customers' complaints and responsibility for errors

Knowledge of writing work orders, preparing reports showing volume, types, and disposition of claims handled
