The tasks a Bale Breaker Tenter, Cotton is expected to perform include:
Tending bale breaking machine for opening and mixing cotton of various grades and partially cleaning them
Pulling out and collecting armful of cotton layers from stack and spreading it on creeper lattice of the machine, for breaking and uniform mixing
Ensuring regular feeding of cotton into lattice in prescribed proportion
Stopping the machine if jammed with cotton
Removing surplus cotton and regulating feed to avoid further jamming
Restarting machine and watching operation of cleaning by beater and exit of cotton through delivery cage under guidance of Mistry
Cleaning waste, trash and dust periodically from dust chamber
Removing waste cotton from machine and cleaning machine
Performing any other miscellaneous work in the blow room
Skilled in cotton processing techniques
Knowledge of different grades of cotton
Ability to avoid clogging and jamming of the machine
Ability to keep the bale breaking machine free from dust all the time
Familiar with the jobs done in blow room
