The tasks a Roto Artist is expected to perform include:
Understanding requirements for post-production
Planning the process for post-production
Breaking down content into individual frames or elements and modify according to requirement
Preparing and finalising effort estimates and work plan in accordance to requirements
Knowledge about post-production techniques that would apply to the current production
Proficiency in handling the relevant equipment and software required
Ability to translate script requirements and post-production objectives into a schedule that could cover the workflow, key activities, deliverables and timelines
Knowledge of the implications of each activity on time, materials, equipment, manpower and budget
Knowledge about the impact of each activity on the entire process workflow (Supervisor)
Ability to estimate the cost and time it would take to keeping in mind the intended visual style
Well versed with domestic and International post-production best practices prevalent in the industry
Knowledge of applicable copyright norms and intellectual property rights
Knowledge of applicable health and safety guidelines
Rotoscopy software including Flame, Silhouette, Nuke, After Effects etc.
Good understanding of film-making
Competent in drawing skills
Illustration skills
Good working knowledge of Rotoscopy software

Team-player

Good eye for detail
