The tasks a Sand-Blaster is expected to perform include:
Cutting artistic designs, according to pattern, on surfaces of glass articles, such as bowls and vases, using sand-blasting equipment
Transferring drawing of desired design to outer side of adhesive tape
Covering glass with tape, and cutting design out of tape with knife to uncover area of glass to be sand-blasted
Operating compressed air gun that blows fine sand against uncovered glass and cuts design into or frosts surface
Competent in using sand-blasting equipment
Knowledge of cutting artistic designs on glass articles
Well-versed with the process of transferring drawing of desired design to outer side of adhesive tape
Knowledge of freehand drawing of design to be cut
Ability to blast design into inside of bowl or vase to create raised rather than sunken effect
Will be updated

Handicrafts & carpet units usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from unit to unit

In the 1970s, the government began initiatives for the preservation of crafts and skill upgrade to focus on meeting the challenges that the sector was facing. However the focus shifted to export in the later decades. Today, handicrafts and handcrafted gift items manufactured and exported from India are much sought-after and have established an unsurpassable reputation in the international market. According to provisional data, the exports of Indian handicrafts in the period of April-August 2014-15 has shown an increase of US$ 256.32 million, which is about 18.06% over the same period in 2013-14. Based on historical trends, the Handicrafts sector is expected to grow by 16% during 2013?17 and by another 16% during 2017?22. As the industry grows, so will the job opportunities for Sand-Blaster.
