The tasks a Brick and Tile Moulder, Hand is expected to perform include:

Moulding bricks or tiles of various shapes and sizes by hand

Smearing the insides of mould with thin coating of oil or dusting it with dry clay

Kneading lumps of clay to obtain proper consistency and throwing it into a mould

Pressing clay into mould by hand 

Scraping off excess clay from mould

Turning mould upside down to remove brick or tile

Proficiency in examining finished products

Well-versed with designing clay forms and shapes

Ability to raise and shape clay into wares

Knowledge of test-fires in pottery

Working hours
Factories usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours every day. This may vary from factory to factory

For freshers - INR 8,000 to INR 9,000 per month

For candidates with 2-4 years of experience or more - INR 10,000 to INR 12,500 per month

The organized glass industry as in 2013, employs 30 lakh people directly and provides indirect employment to 5 lakh people whereas the unorganized sector employs around 5-6 lakh people. About 75% of the total glass industries are concentrated in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
