Plasterer

The tasks a Plasterer is expected to perform include:

Plastering walls, ceilings and other surface of structures with cement, lime, mud or other mortar using hand trowel, level etc

Spreading plaster with trowel to give preliminary coating

Levelling and smoothening primary coat of plaster with straight edge, shapes borders to guide second coating and scratching surface of primary coat to provide bond for subsequent coating

Plastering area to be covered with primary coat and allows it to set for sometime ensuring that it does not get dry before final coating

Appling thin layer of finish plastering coat over surface, makes out corners and angles to suit it and smoothening plastered area with straight edge and trowel

Proficient in mixing sand, cement, lime brick powder etc. in required proportion adding water to it to prepare plastering mortar

Knowledge on wetting structure to be plastered with water to ensure proper adherence

Knowledge of directing and supervising sprinkling of water for curing during plastering and watching drying and final outcome of surface

Well-versed in undertaking ornamental plastering
