The tasks a Police Constable is expected to perform include:

Maintaining the law and order in his beat

Serving summons and warrants, arresting criminals, controlling traffic and guarding treasures and important Government establishments and property

Familiarising himself with area and persons living in his beat so as to watch suspicious character and disreputable establishments

Reporting to the superior officers any unusual or unexplained events

Conducting investigation of petty cases and arresting criminals under warrant and keeping them into custody

Proficient in properly conducting investigation of cases

Ability to safely escorts criminals to jail, court or in journey

Proficient in performing duties of armed guard, criminal investigation and traffic controllers

Knowledge of laws and regulations of the country
