The tasks an Embalmer is expected to perform include:

Preserving dead human bodies by injecting and applying preserving medicines to retard or arrest process of decay or decomposition

Washing body with germicidal soap

Sewing lips, shutting and packing orifices with cotton to prevent leakage

Draining blood from body by cutting artery and injecting preservative or embalming fluid into body, under gravitational pressure

Moving parts of dead body manually, for injected fluid to spread thoroughly

Puncturing internal organs through abdomen to remove fluids and gases

Closing incisions and restoring disfigured bodies to their normal appearance by affixing pieces of moulded wax or other material to injured portions of the body

Dressing body and placing it in coffin for preservation till specified period

Skilled in preserving dead human bodies

Skilled in washing the body using appropriate chemicals

Knowledge of injecting embalming fluid in a dead body

Knowledge of time period for which should be kept for preservation
