The tasks an Undertaker is expected to perform include:

Supervising arrangements for funeral including provision of coffin, burial clothes, flowers, etc., according to requirements

Obtaining data from family for supply of coffin of suitable size and arranging for digging of grave of required dimensions and type

Providing burial clothes of kind required for draping coffin and covering body

Arranging for hearse (vehicle for conveying coffin ) to transport body to grave yard

Arranging for wreathing and flowering required for occasion

Supervising lowering of coffin into grave by bearers

Suggesting kinds of tomb-stone available and making arrangements for its preparation and installation on grave

Making arrangements for band for occasion

Arranging for examination of corpses after getting necessary permission from authorities

Transferring remains in hermetically sealed coffin and arranging for transport of remains to clients

Skilled in making all the necessary arrangements required for a funeral

Ability to obtain all the necessary information of the deceased from the family members

Skilled in supervising the pallbearers in lowering the coffin into the grave

Knowledge of different types of tomb-stones available

Will be updated
