The tasks a Domestic Biometric Data Operator is expected to perform include: Running of smooth biometric data capture Ensuring users get maximum benefits Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
Troubleshooting biometric system and network problems
Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
Knowledge of relevant standards, policies, procedures and guidelines that apply when dealing with basic biometric data capture and encoding
Ability to handle basic and advance pc workstation configuration, maintenance, networking as well as trouble shooting
Knowledge of fundamentals of biometric technologies with a focus on fingerprint, face and iris recognition
Ability to differentiate between acceptable and non-acceptable biometrics in accordance with organisation?s biometrics processing standards
Proficiency in capturing 10-prints on live scan sensor and inkpads and capture standardised facial images
Well versed in capturing iris samples using handheld devices
Familiar with basic principles of biometric system error rates
Knowledge of enrolment procedures of supervised biometric systems
Well versed with biometric standards used in government systems
Understanding of the importance of documenting, classifying, prioritising service requests, crowd management and others
Training programs and certifications in biometric system management, hardware management, routing and switching, network management, customer orientation, dealing with difficult customers etc.
Knowledgeable of various technology
Critical thinking Good error-free typing speed

It is expected that the ?outsource ablemarket would expand from the current US $ 500 billion to about US $ 1.5 to 1.6 trillion by 2020. Sustained GDP growth, increasing public sector spends, and adoption of IT by industry would drive the domestic component of the market. Given these factors, it is expected that the Indian IT and ITES Industry would record about US $ 220 billion in exports and US $ 60 billion domestically by 2022. With biometric technology fast maturing and becoming increasingly sophisticated, biometric solutions are starting to make serious inroads as a high-tech identity management and verification tool within the society. Such momentum has introduced the new possible markets for biometric data operator which has the largest impact on future societies.
