The tasks a Traffic Coordinator (Media Org) is expected to perform include:
Managing inventory for television/radio
Scheduling/ re-scheduling advertisement
Checking quality/technical on advertisements
Coordinating with the agency
Ability to understand the principles of broadcast traffic operations
Ability to handle fundamentals of broadcast technical operations
Familiar with the features and workings of the scheduling software and how to use it effectively
Ability to monitor available inventory at all times
Knowledge about how to calculate the exact time available for paid and promotional advertisements
Well versed in scheduling advertisements keeping in mind exceptions and special requests made by the agency
Ability to re-schedule advertisements upon changes in content duration and scheduling made by the content production teams
Abiltyto check the format and quality of advertisements and ensure they are fit for airing
Well versed with applicable legal and regulatory requirements including broadcasting rules and regulations
