Junior Engineer

The tasks of a Fifth Engineer, Ship is expected to perform include:

Looking after maintenance work

Overhauling of winches and other machinery under guidance of Second Engineer, Ship

Keeping night watch on engine room and deck

Carrying out day work while at sea assisting senior engineers

Knowledge of maintenance work

Ability to keep a check on engine room

Will be updated

Ability to focus for long hours

Diligent and hardworking

Ability to follow instructions

Motor skills

It is a not a desk job

Working hours

Ship usually sails for 5/6 days a week and works for 14/15 hours every day. This may vary from ship to ship
