The tasks an Agricultural Engineering Technician is expected to perform include:Maintaining, servicing and repairing farm equipment such as tractors, sprayers, drillers, etc.Following instructions from senior engineers and studying standing duty chart, sketches, blue prints, etc.Deciding method of work to be adopted

Examining the suitability of stores and issuing them to respective workers

Instructing and guiding subordinates or farmers regarding all farm equipment

Checking completed work, making necessary adjustments or replacements

Lending or selling machines or spare parts and implements to farmers

Preparing contour maps by taking levels and plane table surveys

Examining the land for agricultural purposes

Preparing estimates for reforming the land to make it suitable for cultivation

Preparing plan for field channels for surface and sub-surface drainage

Providing bench terraces in hilly areas

Guiding installation of sprinklers, irrigation equipments and accessories

Designing and fabricating agricultural machinery

Knowledge of laying out agricultural systems and machinery

Efficient in handling and maintaining irrigation and electrical systems

Skilled in agricultural harvesting and processing equipment

Knowledge of plant biology, soil chemistry and engineering principles

Proficient in using drafting and recording tools for data compiling

Knowledge of how to use farm machinery and equipment Knowledge of farm operations, general upkeep and maintenance of agricultural equipment

Efficient in proper utilization of materials at the farm

Master's or Ph

D in Agricultural Engineering

Good communication skills

Working is 9 hours everyday for 6 days a week
