The tasks a Slide Examiner, Paleontology is expected to perform include:

Collecting rock samples and fossils, and examining them under microscope to identify them

Recording their lithology (composition of stones and rocks) and other characteristics

Studying fossil characteristics and discussing lithology of fossiliforous rocks

Maintaining rock-slides and recording data and frequency of occurrence of various fossils belonging to different geological horizons on prescribed charts to correlate findings and compile reports

Knowledge of all manners of fossilized remains of organisms, including those of plants, animals, bacteria and even single-celled living beings

Well-versed with radar scanning

Ability to examine and identify the assembly of fossils
