The tasks a Dance Director is expected to perform include:

Selecting dances, dancers and orchestra for stage or film production

Selecting the costume setting

Directing the dance performance

Training dancers

Assigning different roles to dancers and undertaking rehearsals

Detailed knowledge of various dance forms

Knowledge of how to use lighting on stage

Knowledge of costumes and its effect on dances

Well-versed with Oriental or Western dance form

Overview of Film and Television Sector in India
