The tasks a Tester/Test Engineer Hardware is expected to perform include:
Testing of hardware
Verifying that the device operates as expectedunder defined conditions
Performing tests to see how a newly designed device interacts with another device
Developing and executing test plans
Conducting tests
Ensuring quality outputs
Knowledge about different sources of information and methodologies available for testing and accessing them
Good knowledge about testing processes and associated testing tools
Well versed with problems that may occur with testing and to the procedure to resolve them
Familiar with how to analyse, interpret and present test results
Knowledge about current practice for carrying out tests on electronic products
Certifications in hardware testing techniques, test writing plans, testing tools and software
Decision making

Working hours
IT & ITES companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

Engineering Services and R&D segment is worth over US $ 7.3 billion in exports and has witnessed a growth of 25% since 2004. This segment is expected to touch US $ 50 billion in revenues by 2020. Over 200 product-based multinational companies are known to be sourcing part of their product development requirements from their captive offshore centres in India or from third party vendors in the country.
