Computer System Analyst
Freshers or up to 2 years of work experience in IT-ITeS industry
The tasks a System Analyst is expected to perform include:
Analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing, develop new system or to improve existing computer system
Writing technical report, memoranda, and instructional manuals to document programme development
Upgrading systems and correcting errors to maintain system after implementation
Proficient in analyzing current operational procedures and identifying problems by way of interacting with organization personnel
Knowledge of specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how to summarize data, and formats for reports
Adept in writing detailed description of user needs, programme functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programme
Well-versed in reviewing computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine whether the requested programme or programme change is possible within existing system
Proficient in developing new systems to improve production or workflow as required
Adept in preparing workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programmes, and by personnel in system
Well-versed in development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs
Proficient in upgrading systems and correcting errors to maintain system
Knowledge of resolving work problems related to flow charts, project specifications or programming
Adept in directing and co ordinating work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programmes
Knowledge of current technical development in IT industry
Knowledge of preparing time and cost estimates for the project

Overview of IT-ITeS Sector in India
The IT-ITeS industry has been fuelling India?s growth story. Over the same period, the addressable market for Indian software product businesses is estimated to reach USD 290 to 315 billion. The next decade will play a crucial role in bringing about disruptive growth for the Indian Software Products segment, and the annual revenue aggregate of this segment is forecast to grow from USD 1.4 billion in FY2008 to USD 9.5 to 12 billion by FY2015. Over the past 3 years, the annual revenue aggregate of Indian software product businesses has grown at a CAGR of 44%.
The growth is likely to be in the areas of Business Intelligence (BI), Enterprise Resource Management (ERM), Storage, Security, BFSI, Telecom, Healthcare, Retail, Search Engine Marketing, Mobile Applications, Social Networking, and Online Gaming.
In the IT Exports segment, a large portion of the workforce is currently engineers and MCAs over 80%. The proportion of graduates of science and other streams engaged in software development is expected to show significant increase from about 5% to 10% currently to about 15% to 20%.
Based on the trends witnessed in productivity and the likely growth potential of the IT and ITeS industry, it is expected that the industry would result in an incremental employment of about 7.5 million persons directly by 2022..
