Minimum Graduation/Post graduation in telecom management or its equivalent, BE/B-Tech/MS/MBA

Preferably work experience within the telecom industry required

The tasks a General Manager Communication is expected to perform include:

Organising, co-ordinating and supervising efficient utilisation of resources in a public or private organisation

Overseeing within delegated authority the activities of one or more departments/branches engaged in postal, telephone, telegraph, wireless and other communication services

In-depth knowledge of the operations within a telecom setup

Knowledge and expertise in leading and delegating tasks and authority Knowledge of translating and applying advanced technical documentation and principles

Expertise in improving telecommunications reliability, throughput, and productivity Knowledge of supervising the installation of new systems

Knowledge of the market and ability to network in the telecommunication environment

Overseeing the operations and activities of a telecommunications and networking infrastructure

In-depth knowledge of all departments and sub functions of the telecom industry

Excellent communication skills

Increase in Human Resource requirement in Telecommunications

The sector currently employs over 2.08 million employees and is slated to employ more than 4.16 million employees by 2022. This implies additional creation of ~2.1 million jobs in the nine-year period. The period 2013?17 will see a marginally higher growth in employment vis-a-vis 2017?22 due to expected changes in infrastructure integration and shared services along with increasing share of organised retail leading to higher productivity levels of workforce.
