The tasks a General Manager, Plantation is expected to perform include:Managing crop plantation

Procuring the appropriate seed material

Clearing and preparing the land for growing crops

Organizing and supervising various functions such as sowing, applying manure, weeding, etc.Taking necessary steps to preserve the yield

Marketing and selling the yield

Skilled in securing the seeds based on soil suitability

Proficient in determining the content and quality of manure

Efficient in preparing and ploughing land

Adept at protecting the crop from weed, insects and other pests

Efficient in the processes of plucking, tapping and threshing of leaves, etc.Efficient in ensuring proper maintenance and development of plantation estate

Knowledge of harvesting the crop

Skilled in the recruitment and welfare of the labour employed

Knowledge of maintaining records of cost, sale and other accounts

Proficient in conducting research and organizing demonstrations regarding plantation of various crops

Proficient in the preservation of the produce

Knowledge of partially processing the yield prior to marketing

Ability to stay abreast with the latest development in variety of various crops and vegetables

Proficient in arithmetic and accounting

Proficient in dealing with local labour
