Other Protective Service Workers include professionals who provide protective services other than those listed in the Law Enforcement and Firefighting and Prevention pathways. These include animal control workers, transportation security screeners, private detectives and investigators, security guards, gambling investigators and surveillance officers, and life guards and ski patrol etc, among others. Most of them are employed by security and investigation service companies, retail establishments, hotels and recreational establishments, businesses etc. Responsibilities include gathering, compiling and reporting information to clients, guarding and monitoring premises to prevent theft and violence, monitoring recreational areas to maintain order and provide assistance etc.
