Law enforcement workers are public sector employees whose duties involve primarily the enforcement of law. Law enforcement workers include jailors, correctional officers and bailiffs, criminal investigators and detectives, police officers and sheriffs, fish and game wardens, and parking enforcement officers. Typically, they are charged with maintaining law and order of an assigned area, prevent crimes and protect life and property, investigate suspected violations and conduct investigations, apprehend and arrest suspected criminals, guard prisoners etc. Most of the occupations in this pathway require carrying weapons.
