Preschool, elementary, middle and secondary school and special education teachers play a crucial role in stimulating the social and intellectual growth of children during their developmental years and bestow the tools and environment for their development into responsible adults. Their duties include planning and imparting lessons, grading assignments and papers, discussing academic progress or issues of students with parents, listening to presentations, preparing results and report cards, and maintaining the decorum of the classroom.
Preschool and elementary teachers typically teach mathematics, science, language and social studies, using teaching aids such as books, computers, games, music and other tools to make learning interactive.
