The tasks an Historian is expected to perform include:
Studying, interpreting and preparing chronological records for dealing with past and current events connected with the origin and progress of a nation, state, region, institution, etc.
Visiting places of historical importance, collecting historical data from different sources such as archives, court records, diaries, files and other published and unpublished materials
Evaluating data on authenticity and relative significance
Assembling historical data in a systematic form and relating them to the time, place and sequence of cause and effects
Aiming at the objective statement of facts and writing history in a narrative form from the assembled data to denote events as they occurred
Conducting research of historian importance
In-depth knowledge of history
Ability to read and study texts written in an ancient language
Skilled in checking the authenticity of the data received/found
Ability to classify the data collected and writing reports on the same
Skilled in narrative writing
