An architect is a person who plans, designs and reviews the construction of buildings, while surveyors determine the terrestrial or three dimensional positions of points and the distances and angles between them, required for the planning and execution of most forms of construction. A cartographer is involved in the study and practice of making maps. This pathway includes the research, preparation and evaluation of maps and other spatial data, taking measurements of properties, and the planning and designing of structures and land areas for residences, office buildings, theaters, airports, highways, hospitals etc.
