Mining engineering is an engineering discipline that applies science and technology to the extraction of minerals from the earth. It also involves aspects of other disciplines such as metallurgy, geology, geotechnical engineering etc.
Depending on the country, undergraduate courses in this field are either three or four years long, with a further one or two years for postgraduation.
