The tasks a Wig Maker is expected to perform include: Making wigs according to specifications

Fastening strands of hair to cloth base

Fitting and pleating pattern on to head block Fixing pleats with silk tapes

Cutting silk and silk gauze to shape

Fitting over paper pattern and sewing to silk tapes

Trimming and binding edges

Making partings, combing and oiling wig

Placing wig (on head block) in open for drying and setting

Preparing and dressing wigs for dolls

Knowledgeable about make-up techniques and products

Proficiency in cutting paper pattern to shape and size according to customers? measurements

Ability to mount wig on head block by inserting hook-pointed needle in gauze to catch, twist and pull hair through

Proficiency in curling hair by water-waving or with paper spills

Well versed in selecting hair to suit requirements and knotting them Proficient infastening strands of hair to cloth base
