The tasks a Tailor, General is expected to perform include: Making garments by stitching various components

Measuring customers for size with inch-tape

Recording measurements for making garments

Cutting material according to pattern and size

Assembling garment parts by sewing

Marking alterations to be made and finishing garments

Preparing new designs and supervising sewing, stitching, button-holing, etc.Repairing and renovating garments

Well-versed with different types of patterns and designs for males and females

Efficient in removing stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor blades

Ability to estimate garment cost

Well-versed with taking measurements for different patterns

Proficiency in operating sewing machine

Well-versed with cutting and trimming of garments

Basic knowledge of latest trends in dress designs

Working hours

Working hours are for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company Shift system maybe available
