Electrical Helper, Apprentice Electrician, Electrician Helper

Minimum - Preferably 10th standard pass with reasonable knowledge of mathematics, science and English terminology relevant to trade

Certified training for Helper Electrician Level-1 (programme aligned to CON/Q 0601 released by Construction Skill Development Council)

The tasks an Helper Electrician Level-1 is expected to perform include: Identifying and using basic tools, equipment and materials

Handling and storing material

Cutting, filling, levelling and compaction of earth

Erecting and dismantling 3.6 metre temporary scaffoldings

Fixing conduits and wall chasing for concealed wiring

Threading externally on MS conduit

Performing tasks under health, safety and environmental regulations

Knowledge of identifying, use, storing, handling, upkeep, maintenance, checking and inspection of tools and materials

Knowledge of the precaution and safety required in handling, storing and transporting tools, equipment and electrical materials

Knowledge of loading, unloading, handling and stacking hazardous/non-hazardous and electrical materials

Knowledge of the methods of carrying loose fluids, chemicals, oils and fuels

Expertise in the tools, equipment, safety methods and process for erecting and dismantling 3.6 metre temporary scaffolds

Knowledge of the names and use of tools, tackles, excavation equipment and methods of cutting and filling

Knowledge of tools, equipment, process and safety precautions involved in wall chasing and conduit fixing

Knowledge of using marking, cutting, filling and threading tools

Sound knowledge of accident, health, safety and evacuation procedures and their reporting

Training for 6 to 8 weeks so as to qualify for the tests and certification by authorised agency for knowledge and skills as per NOS Level-1
