Certified training for Sewing Machine Operator (programme aligned to AMH/Q0301 released by Apparel, Made Up?s and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council)

Preferable 2 years of experience in woven and knit operations

The task a Sewing Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

Stitching or sewing fabric, fur or synthetic materials to produce apparels

Knowledge of fabrics/apparels and garments and types of fabrics/apparels that require stitching by hand or machine stitching

Proficient in range of techniques most suited to the different types of apparel

Working knowledge of relevant tools and equipment

Proficient in procedures to set the stitch size Knowledge about garment parts (pockets, fronts, backs, collars, cuffs, sleeves, etc.) Equipped to assemble different garment parts to make the final product

Capable of handling the problems encountered when stitching different types of apparels

Knowledge of the sewing machine parts and its application

Equipped to follow manufacturer?s instructions for setting up, adjusting and operating the equipment

Preferably training on sewing operation

Communication skills
