Sewing Machine Technician

The tasks that a Mechanic Sewing Machine is expected to perform include:Examining, adjusting, repairing and servicing sewing machines for proper performance

Examining faulty machines to ascertain nature and location of defects

Dismantling machine partly or completely to remove damaged and worn out parts

Repairing defective parts or obtaining replacements

Assembling parts and testing machine for desired performance by making necessary adjustments of positions of screws, nuts, levers, needle bar, rockers, etc. Stitching trial piece of cloth and making further adjustments, if necessary Cleaning and oiling machine periodically for smooth performance

Visiting residences or premises to repair domestic sewing machines on the spot

Knowledge of the use, properties and care of different machine parts Broad knowledge of the sewing machine parts and accessories

Ability to help and guide customer in maintaining machines and machine parts

Understanding of sewing machines and its types
