Railway Passenger Guide

The tasks a Passenger Guide, Railway expected to perform include:

Guiding and assisting passengers travelling in lower class compartments in finding accommodation

Purchasing tickets, boarding and changing correct trains and availing of passenger amenities provided at railway stations

Selecting vantage position at railway station and following movement of passenger traffic to locate individuals in difficulties and providing them information and guidance about

movements, timings of trains booking counter, etc.

Proficient in ensuring that waiting halls, platforms, and carriages in trains are kept neat and tidy

Adept at reporting defects in carriage fitting such as electrical, watering sanitary, safety devices, etc. to train examining staff for rectification

Well-versed in intervening in disputes between porters and passengers when necessary

Knowledge of reporting cases requiring assistance of police to Station Master, Railway

Knowledge of arranging supply of invalid chairs to sick passengers on requisition

Knowledge of investigating complaints of excess charging by Booking Clerks

Good physical health
