The tasks a Guard, Goods Train is expected to perform include:

Conducting goods train on scheduled route

Ensuring safety of booked goods enroute

Inspecting wagons for effective sealing, locking arrangements, and proper marshalling order

Proficient in checking particulars about destination of train and taking charge

Adept at reporting any discrepancies to proper authorities for rectification

Well-versed in informing Engine Driver of routes to be followed and stoppages involved

Proficient in signalling for movement of train after obtaining clearance from Station Master

Proficient in supervising coupling and detachment of wagons and conducting loading and unloading of freight enroute at various stops

Adept at maintaining prescribed records describing journeys undertaken, important incidents and difficulties involved

Knowledge of handing over charge of train on completion of journey to proper officials

Will be updated

Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week
