The tasks a Sales Consultant Level 4 is expected to perform include:

Following potential leads and managing vehicle sales

Collecting thesales leads from all sources

Communicating with potential buyers to understand their needs

Delivering thesales pitch to potential buyers

Scheduling test drives for customers

Responding to all customer queries

Explaining thefinance and insurance facilities available to the customer

Explaining thevalue-added accessories available with the vehicle

Skilled in interacting with customers

Proficiency in handling telephonic queries

Knowledge about the technical and performance specifications of the vehicle

Proficiency in handling customer queries

Knowledge of the cost and service aspect of the vehicles

Knowledge of how to calculate the road cost of the vehicle

Basic knowledge of all promotional schemes offered by dealers

Familiar with the documents required by customers to complete sales

Knowledge of the financial and insurance services available to customers

Knowledge of competitor products and policies

Ability to maintain a valid driver?s license

On-the-job training for ASDC Sales Consultant Level 4 certificate holders

Postgraduate Degree/Diploma holder in Business Administration

Growth Estimates of Automotive Industry in India

The Automotive Mission Plan for the period of 2006-2016 aims to make India emerge as a global automotive hub. The idea is to make India the destination of choice for the design and manufacture of automobiles and auto components, with outputs soaring to reach USD 145 billion which is basically accounting for more than 10% of the GDP. This would also provide further employment to over 25 million people by 2016 making the automobile sector the sunrise sector of the economy.

The increase in the manufacturing sector?s growth will require more salesmen to complete the sale of products. New launches will also increase the demand for sales representatives to attend to the customers. This means there will be an increase in job opportunities for Sales Consultant Level 4.
