Minimum MD/MS (Medicine) (Dermatology), MBBS (Medicine)

Minimum 6 months of internship required

The tasks a Dermatologist is expected to perform include:Diagnosing and conducting treatment of ailment of human skin

Performing clinical tests, microscopic examination of scrapings of diseased part of the skin

Prescribing medicines for treatment of various kinds of skin diseases

Consulting other specialists to diagnose diseases

Relating skin disorder to diseases or disorders in other parts/system of the body

Educating the patients on the treatment and prevention of skin conditions

Skilled in major and minor surgeries

Proficient in cosmetic services

Knowledge about of types skin diseases

Equipped withinformation and techniques needed to diagnose diseases/deformities

Knowledge of relevant equipment used in surgeries

In-depth knowledge of the skin and subcutaneous tissue anatomy

Knowledge of cutaneous microanatomy and biology

Skilled in clinical pharmacology

Basic understanding of immunology

Basic knowledge of radiation physics and radiobiology and basic laser physics

Ability to be able to perform procedures including biopsies, cryotherapy and the removal of skin lesions

Basic knowledge of the common association between skin disease and other disorders typically within the realm of general medicine
