Minimum Preferably a Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering (with specialization in PHE)Certified training for Public Health System Design Engineer (programme aligned to PSC/Q 006 released by the Indian Plumbing Skills Council)
Preferably 6 years of relevant work experience of working on PHE projects
The tasks a Public Health System Design Engineer is expected to perform include: Designing of water, wastewater and rain water harvesting systems
Supervising and reviewing basic drawings and the work of plumbing draftsmen
Managing the design work of various systems during the design phase
Monitoring the work environment to meet the health and safety requirements
Understanding the various designing parameters
Knowledge of physical and chemical water quality parameters
Knowledge of hydraulic principles and materials related to the design of a water and wastewater system
Knowledge of issues that can arise due to faulty design
Knowledge of manual and computer tools related to drawings and designs
Ability to supervise subordinates
Understanding of multiple design tools
Previous on-the-job training
