The tasks a Civil Engineer, Irrigation is expected to perform include:Planning, organizing and supervising construction of dams

Supervising the laying of concrete in foundation, masonry work, digging of canals, etc.Controlling quality of concrete by getting cubes tested at every stage of construction
Getting sluice gates erected, pipe line of power house laid and machinery installed
Checking work to ensure conformity with specifications
Calling tenders and awarding work to contractors
Undertaking construction of staff quarters, office buildings, approach roads, etc.
Skilled in practical application of engineering principles, techniques and procedures
Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction
Ability to undertake repairing processes of the dam
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles
Efficient in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models, etc.Knowledge of business and management principles
