The tasks that a Signalman, Tram is expected to perform include:Guiding operation of tram cars on single track by signalling with flag or light

Signalling tram to stop or to proceed by waving red or green flags

Acquainting himself/herself with traffic rules and any other special instruction issued by traffic authorities

Ensuring that the traffic and control lights are in order

Knowledge of standard procedures to be followed in signalling

Knowledge of traffic rules regarding trams

Knowledge of the tram car working

Familiar with adequate signal techniques
