Vehicle Test Drivers

Minimum ? Polytechnic / Engineering or equivalent

The tasks a Driver, Road Test is expected to perform include:Driving completed or experimental automotive vehicles under test conditions

Detecting mechanical and structural defects in the vehicle, to determine required repairs

Examining automobile, before road testing to ensure that all equipment, such as electrical wiring, hydraulic lines and fan belt are installed as specified

Verifying that the vehicle has been serviced with oil, gas and water

Driving vehicles over test tracks, city streets or highways, noting performance of clutch, gears, brakes and other parts of vehicle

Performing tests using testing devices

Knowledge of testing standards and requirements

Knowledge of technical specifications of various vehicles

Basic knowledge of individual components of the machine

Maintain a valid driver?s license

Basic computing skills

Familiar with various testing devices
