The tasks a Liquor Taster is expected to perform include:

Tasting sample of liquor to classify it according to standards

Tasting samples of liquor and ascertaining or judging the quality of liquor considering its flavour, aroma and colour of liquor by using his senses

Classifying samples according to standards

Recommending specific blends of lots that will be accepted commercially

Ascertaining the place of origin and age of wine or liquor

Ability to understand consumer tastes and preferences

Abreast with current trends and practices in the food and beverage industry

Proficient in judging the flavour, aroma and colour of liquor by the use of senses

Ability to ascertain the place of origin and age of wine or liquor

Knowledge of different types of liquors

In-depth knowledge of characteristics of all types of liquors

Food Industry in India
