The tasks a Precision Printing Worker is expected to perform include:
Performing variety of precision printing activities, such as duplication of microfilm and reproduction of graphic arts materials
Operating automaticprocessor
Developing photographs, plates, or base material used in single or multicolour proofs
Setting up and operating bindery equipment to cut, assemble, staple, or bind materials
Examining and inspecting printed material for clarity of print and specified colour
Mixing powdered ink pigments, using matching book and measuring and mixing tools
Reviewing layout and customer order to determine size and style of type
Measuring density levels of colours or colour guides on proofs, using densitometer
Comparing readings to set standards
Printing paper and film copies of completed material from computer
Scanning artwork, using optical scanner, which changes image into computer-readable form
Entering, positioning, and altering size of text, usingcomputer to make up and arranging pages to produce printed materials
Knowledge of operating automatic processor to develop photographs, plates, or base material used in single or multicolour proofs
Knowledge of setting up and operating bindery equipment to cut, assemble, staple, or bind materials
Proficient in maintaining printing machinery and equipment
Well-versed in examining and inspecting printed material for clarity of print and specified colour
Proficient in scanning artwork, using optical scanner, which changes image into computer-readable form
