The tasks a

Photo Type Setting Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

Operating key-board of machine which reproduces letters on film or sensitized paper for reproduction in printing

Placing unexposed film or sensitized paper in photographic element of machine

Examining lay-out copy for typographical indications, such as spacing, type faces and length of lines

Reading copy and depressing keys of keyboard to reproduce required letters on film or sensitized paper

Manipulating machine controls as necessary to change type size and spacing, adjusting camera light and eliminating incorrect lines

Removing container with exposed film or sensitized paper on completion of operation and sending it to developing room

Knowledge of operating key-board of machine

Proficient in starting the machine and setting its dial according to typographical instructions on layout copy

Will be updated
